Serving Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, San Diego County, and San Bernardino County
- Social Distancing - Living at home already promotes social distancing which is the first step to protect against transmission. We can can pick up medications, groceries, and anything else your loved one needs, minimizing their interaction with large groups of people.
- Hand Washing - Circle of Care staff washes their hands and surfaces while in a patient’s home and throughout the day using recommended alcohol based hand sanitizer. Caregivers also encourage patients to frequently wash their hands and can provide reminders and assistance when necessary.
- Cleaning and Disinfecting - caregivers frequently clean and disinfect common touched surfaces while in the clients home or place of residency. In-home caregivers who are assisting with light house keeping tasks as part of the care plan are increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting light switches, doorknobs, counters, faucet handles and other frequently touched surfaces.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - face masks and gloves are used when our staff visits clients home or other place of living. PPP is used when clients are engaged in community events and recreation. PPP is used whenever social distancing is not possible. Staff personnel are asked to follow FDA, CDC and WHO guidance regarding the proper use of PPE.
- Staff Monitoring - Circle of Care staff self-monitors for any signs or symptoms of COVID including fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or sudden loss of taste and smell. In the event that a staff member shows a symptom, they immediately report to their supervisor so proper steps to backup care can be arranged.
- Self Quarantine - Circle of Care staff are trained to monitor for exposure with anyone with a known or suspected positive COVID-19 test and self quarantine until it is determined they have passed the incubation period and are safe, or fully recovered in the event of a positive. Circle of care will coordinate backup care so that a patient is never left without the care they need.
- Patient/Client Screening - Circle of Care staff have been trained to perform a basic assessment of their patients for possible signs and symptoms of COVID-19. These might include a fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat or loss of taste and smell. Patients showing any signs will receive information and support about contacting their doctor for further evaluation.
- Staff Training - Circle of Care staff receives regular updates and training whenever new information is released from the CDC or other governing authority.
